A Celebration of Faith, Renewal and Community in Nottingham
Reformation Sunday, Baptism and Black History Month
Lutherans in Nottingham gathered for a special Sunday service, bringing together three meaningful occasions: Reformation Sunday, the celebration of baptism, and Black History Month.
Reformation Sunday reminds us of the importance of faith, grace and the ongoing renewal of the Church. It is an opportunity to reflect on our Lutheran heritage while looking forward with hope and gratitude.
The service was made even more joyful by the celebration of baptism, a beautiful reminder of God's love, the gift of new life in Christ, and the welcome we share as one Christian family.
As October marks Black History Month in the UK, we also took time to recognise the contributions of Black Christians to the Church and wider society. This reflection reminds us of our shared responsibility to promote racial justice, celebrate diversity and build a Church where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
It was a meaningful occasion of worship, reflection and fellowship, bringing our community together in faith and reminding us that, despite our differences, we are united in Christ.
We give thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make this Sunday so special.
